Sinusoidal (wave) corrugation follows a smooth sine-wave curve, creating a softer, more organic appearance that is popular for contemporary architectural designs. The gentle curves provide excellent light diffusion. Trapezoidal corrugation has flat crests and troughs connected by angled sides, creating sharper, more geometric lines. Trapezoidal profiles offer slightly higher rigidity for heavy-duty applications.
While vertical installation is standard for optimal water runoff, horizontal installation is possible with careful detailing. For horizontal installation, the panel joints must be lapped with adequate overlap (minimum 75mm), and flashing must be designed to prevent water ingress at panel ends.
It depends on the panel type. Standard corrugated panels made from extruded aluminum profiles cannot be curved due to the rigidity of extrusion sections. However, corrugated panels formed from flat aluminum sheet (sheet-formed corrugation) may be bendable depending on profile geometry and panel dimensions. We recommend consulting our technical team with your specific project requirements to determine the best solution for curved applications.
Corrugated panels are typically fixed using concealed clips at panel edges or exposed self-drilling screws through the wave crests. Concealed clip systems provide a clean appearance with no visible fasteners. Exposed fasteners are more economical and allow easier panel replacement.
PVDF-coated corrugated panels require minimal maintenance. Annual cleaning with water and mild detergent is typically sufficient to maintain appearance. In coastal or industrial environments, more frequent cleaning (every 6 months) may be recommended.
